Meet Dr. Robert Bass
Dr. Robert Bass
Dr. Robert Bass received his D.D.S. from the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry in 1982. He completed his internship and residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Illinois in 1987. Dr. Bass moved to Palm Desert in 1989, joining Desert Oral Surgery and becoming a partner in 1990. He earned his Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 1993.
As an oral and maxillofacial surgeon, Dr. Bass manages a wide variety of problems relating to the mouth, teeth, and facial regions. His scope of care includes intraoral procedures, corrective jaw surgery, wisdom tooth removal, facial pain, facial injuries, TMJ disorders, and dental implant procedures.

Dr. Bass is on active staff and takes hospital call at Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs, CA and Eisenhower Medical Center in Rancho Mirage, CA.
Meet Dr. Kyle Mecca
Dr. Kyle Mecca, DMD, MBA, MS
Dr. Kyle Mecca is a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon distinguished by his extensive education, professional experience, and commitment to community service. Originally from Scranton, Pennsylvania, Dr. Mecca recently relocated to Southern California. During college, he worked as a surgical assistant in an oral surgery practice for four years, which helped foster his passion for dentistry.
Dr. Mecca earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology and Master of Science in Clinical Chemistry from the University of Scranton. He then earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from LECOM School of Dental Medicine in Bradenton, Florida, where he met his future wife, Dr. Kaylee Pollitt.
Following dental school, Dr. Mecca completed a General Practice Residency at Rochester General Hospital. He then completed two consecutive one-year internships in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Strong Memorial Hospital, part of the University of Rochester, before completing a four-year Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency at Strong Memorial Hospital.

Dr. Mecca gained extensive training in anesthesia, dentoalveolar surgery, dental implants, bone grafting, oral pathology, and reconstructive and corrective jaw surgery. During his residency, he also pursued an Executive MBA at the Simon Business School at the University of Rochester, giving him a strong understanding of both clinical practice and healthcare management.
